# Latin anatomical terminology

The Latina mode is a separate language selection in SomaLens. Individual anatomical terms are matched against the official FIPAT Terminologia Anatomica, version 2.07, served by the Open Anatomy Project's TA2Viewer: https://ta2viewer.openanatomy.org/ . Publication information: https://fipat.library.dal.ca/ta2/ .

Only unambiguous English term/synonym matches and explicitly selected aliases are imported. Side qualifiers are retained with grammatical agreement for supported anatomical nouns. Model identifiers and original English metadata are preserved.

Names without a confirmed Latin correspondence retain their English source name and are marked as such. Existing detailed source descriptions remain in English where a Latin description is not provided. Educational study terminology and brief Latin descriptions are SomaLens translations; they are not a new official terminology or a clinical validation.

The individual terms are public-domain facts. No FIPAT publication notes, illustrations or explanatory prose are redistributed. The original sources and notices of the 3D models are unchanged.
